Labiaplasty is a growing trend to avoid Camel Toes in Yoga Pants

2 min read

There’s a new trend in the fitness world. Some women are deciding to undergo a labiaplasty to avoid camel toe while wearing yoga pants.

In just one year, from 2013 to 2014, plastic surgeons have seen a 49 percent increase in labiaplasties.

What is a Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty, also known as “lips,” is basically plastic surgery done on the labia. The labia can be reduced in size or changed in shape. Labiaplasties are usually performed to reduce the size of the labia or make them more symmetrical.

Labiaplasties can cost between $5,000 and $7500. They are performed under local anesthesia and take 60 to 90 min. Recovery usually takes three days.

Plastic surgeons who perform labiaplasties, such as Dr. Jennifer Walden, say the increasing number is due to pubic hair removal’s growing popularity, the availability of porn on the internet, and the pressure from society to be perfect.

Look Good in Workout Clothes

This surgery is performed by women who feel self-conscious when wearing tight workout clothing, such as yoga pants.

A surgeon named Dr. Richard Swift said that one of his female patients requested a labiaplasty after feeling self-conscious during a Pilates class. She felt so uncomfortable that she was unable to perform certain movements.

Consulting a plastic surgery specialist to perform surgery in your nether regions is a big step. You will need to spend a lot of time, money, and effort. Also, it would be best if you considered the outcome. Do you want to look like the fitness models you see on various sites? Is it worth the risk and cost of avoiding cameltoe?
