The rhythms of nature remind us that the only constant in life is change.
We can’t hold onto the summer, with its days of sunshine and warmth, even though we would like to.
Accepting the changing seasons can help us better understand our natural rhythms. After the perfect balance of the day and night hours at the autumnal Equinox, the days will get shorter.
Mornings feel cooler already; dew drops are glistening on the grass blades, and we will soon be heading to work at night and returning home in the evening.
Transitioning from Summer to Fall
We bid goodbye to summer as we welcome a new season. It brings new opportunities and experiences.
We give thanks and appreciate the fruits of the dreams we planted at the beginning of the year as we align ourselves with the changes that nature brings. We pay close attention to any part of our harvest that has turned into weeds or is not growing the way we wanted. We don’t make judgments when we are taking inventory. Instead, we try to observe.
Autumn Lessons on Letting Go
This time of year is a great opportunity to let go of things that no longer serve us, to become clear about what’s really important to us, and to make this our priority.
You can choose something small or big: a relationship or a personal practice. It could be yoga, meditation, or reading. Autumn reminds us to live in the moment. It is not necessary to wait until a later date to begin living, but we should do so NOW.
Give yourself the time you need to do what’s important to YOU NOW.
Nature asks us to slow down and look inward as the days become shorter and the nights longer. This is a perfect opportunity to reconnect with our inner strength, love, and harmony. Now is the perfect time to nourish and rekindle our inner light, which will help us navigate through the dark days of winter and fall.
