Fashion Revolution week is coming up on the 24th to the 30th of April and we are excited.  Fashion Revolution is all about making the fashion industry accountable for the way that the workers in the manufacturing process are treated.  You might have come across the #whomademyclothes and #fashionrevolution hashtags.  You will be seeing them a lot more next week, as people show the labels on their clothes and ask manufacturers the question, 'who made my clothes'?...

The fair market

As Chris wrote in the previous post, we now take payments through both zipPay and Afterpay lay-by systems.  We are loving the interest from people who found us through those sites and by searching for zipPay or Afterpay shops.  Welcome! I hope these methods do help make ethical products more accessible.  Sometimes a few payments lessen the impact on the the fortnightly budget, even if they are not for big amounts.  I have been using both methods with my own shopping....

Someone made your clothes

It's true.  I know you know, but still, it gives a purchase a kind of intimacy, reflecting that hands, possibly many, have been involved in making a garment. A little while back there was 'Fashion Revolution' day which is about asking the big brands #whomademyclothes.  Excellent, more of this, and you know, not just for the bandwagon factor.  Some change can be good: bigger systemic changes would be the thing, of course.
